Slacker

I have been such a slacker with blogging. The holiday rush has started this past week and I feel like I have so much to do. Honestly, I like it that way. I don't like to be bored, but I will be happy when I can get my "to do" list done. It keeps growing everyday. I have had so much to blog about as we always have good times, funny stories, and blessings to share. I have it all in my head, just haven't put it on the blog. My friend Beth and I were talking about our blogs the other day when she stopped by for a minute and I told her I was going to blog about Thanksgiving but I figured most people probably know we ate dinner. I was going to blog about getting up at 4am to shop with my sister in law, but there wasn't much of a story there except we are out of our minds! I was going to blog about Christmas decorating but figured, everyone else decorated too, plus my pictures didn't look as nice as it looks in person. So we have been busy, just haven't bored you with every last detail! Hopefully I will get back on the ball soon! I know you can't wait! He he!

"I turned Christmas on!"

We have spent all weekend getting our house ready for Christmas. Now that it is all done I love to have all of the lights on, especially on days like today when it is gloomy outside. Dylan and I got home from running errands and he informed me he turned Christmas on for me. I had to think about it for a minute and then I realized he had plugged the tree in! It was so cute! We have 5 trees in the house this year (not all big) and it has been a chore to get Dylan to understand why he doesn't plug the trees in by himself! Oh well! It made for a cute memory!

Dinner Guests

We had special dinner guests over tonight! My younger brother Christopher and his girlfriend Savannah came over for dinner. My parents are still in Miami visiting my older brother, and we will be going to Tim's parents tomorrow for Thanksgiving, so we wanted to have some family over since we would not all be together during the holiday. I cooked, (I hear you laughing!) everyone ate! We had a good time talking and watching the boys as they entertained us. Christopher and Savannah even got a lesson on The Wonder Pets! Very funny conversation! It was nice to see them as everyone is so busy and we don't get together that often.

The above picture was a result of Uncle Chris finding out what "surprise" Dylan had for him in his diaper!

Little Gym

Monday night Joshua was invited to go to the Little Gym. It is a new kids gym that opened up not to far from the house. His friend Audrey takes a weekly class and this past week was allowed to invite one friend to go with her. She obviously invited Joshua! It was Superhero night and the kids were supposed to dress up like superheros. If you didn't have a super hero costume you could just wear a Halloween costume. Joshua wore his pirate costume from a year ago and Audrey wore a bunch of different stuff. She looked so cute! For an hour the kids played, climbed, and tumbled on the gym equipment. Joshua loved it! He wants to go back! Tim is not so excited about letting him participate in a gymnastics class but they offer Karate so we might think about letting Joshua do that. The class would be on Tuesday nights which would interfere with t ball season. We will have to see. Anyway, he had a lot of fun! Thanks for inviting us Audrey!

Advent Workshop

We took the kids to the Advent Workshop at out church tonight. Our church does this event every year and it is always a lot of fun. We had a dinner catered by Lawler's BBQ and watched a puppet show while we ate. The kids ate well and enjoyed the show. The next part was their favorite. We made candy houses! They were busy deciding what should go where and how to do it. That kept them busy for about 15 minutes until they realized they were allowed to eat the candy while they made the house. Tim ended up finishing the rest of the house by himself. I watched as I made an advent wreath. We had a good time talking with friends from our Sunday school class and laughing at how creative some of the houses were.

This time last year......

We were heading to Disney World! Oh how I wish we were there! We went twice last year so we had to skip out this year. My parents went down to Miami yesterday to visit my older brother and had planned on stopping at Disney for 2 days. Schedules just didn't work out so they had to skip it! Maybe next year! (I have already dropped several hints to Tim about the spring!)

Road Trip

Today we went on a road trip with the kids. We went to Chattanooga to visit the Creative Discovery Museum. We had never been there before. We usually go to the aquarium across the street and that is about all we can handle in one day. Tim and I were really excited to take the kids there as we have not had a day with just them in a long time. We wanted them to have a fun day without having to run all over the place. We got there around lunch time so we went to the Mellow Mushroom for pizza. It was really good! Once we had full bellies we headed over to the museum. It was so much fun! There was so much to do. We went non stop for about 2 1/2 hours. We didn't even do everything that was available. I think the best part was the playground right when we walked in. We got to climb and play right along with the kids. The kids got to do so much. They had a ball. I think Dylan was sleep walking by the time we left. We took a quick walk around downtown and then got in the car to head home. We went through McDonald's on the way home and got ice cream to eat for the ride home. What is a road trip without food?! I was so glad we had a perfect day!
