Bouncy Day

We spent the morning at Jump Zone today! We had so much fun playing on the slides. Gram went with us and Aunt Bethany met us there later in the morning. We got there around 9:15am and spent over 2 hours climbing and sliding. Gram and I got a great work out following the boys up and down the slides. We were so worn out by the time we left. I am not sure who had more fun, us or the boys! After we left we went and had lunch at Atlanta Bread Company. By the time we made it home Dylan could hardly keep his eyes open so he went down for a nap while Joshua and I rested and watched t.v. for a few minutes. Later that afternoon Heather brought Jack and Carter over to play with the boys while her and Jason went to a meeting. We watched Alvin and The Chipmunks and all of the boys kept cooking different things for me to eat on Dylan's kitchen set. Do they know me well or what?! Heather and the boys ended up staying for dinner since Tim was gone tonight and Jason had to go home and mow the grass. It was a good end to a fun day!

Lots of food and friends!

We have had a busy week. We got a chance to see friends we haven't seen much this summer. It is hard to believe the summer is almost gone. School starts the first week in August so we only have a few days left to enjoy the relaxed schedules and longer days. Monday night we were supposed to have dinner at The Solley's house and let the kids play on their new swing set. Well a very strong storm took care of that plan late in the day and knocked down several trees in their neighborhood and made the backyard into a big mess. So we decided to eat at Casa Blanca instead and then we all came back to our house to let the kids play. They have 2 little girls. Meg is 3 and Ava is about 8 months. Joshua and Dylan always have fun playing with Meg. Friday night we had some friends from our Sunday School class over. The Bells and The Ellenburgs. The Bells have a girl named Maggie. Her and Dylan were born on the same day! The Ellenburgs have a little boy Zach who is about 18 months. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and let the kids run crazy in the backyard and in the house. Everyone was very tired at the end of the night. Saturday afternoon we went to a birthday party for Jeff and Becky Smith's little boy Noah. He was turning 2. This was a very special birthday to them because they adopted Noah from China earlier this year. This was his 1st birthday spent with his family. They had his party at a park near their house. There was a playground to play on and a creek that the kids splashed around in. The kids had a blast doing that since it was so hot outside. Here are a few pictures from the week. ( 2 from the birthday party and one of Meg and Dylan)

Spring Valley Beach

We had a great day yesterday! We went down to Spring Valley Beach in Blountsville. Tim's parents live near there so we decided to take Joshua to the water park. We have been trying to do some special things with Joshua since he will start school in a few weeks. We actually went to Oneonta first to pick up our Nephew Blake from Maw Maw and Paw Paw's house. He was going to spend the day with us also. We were also dropping off Dylan with Maw Maw so he could spend the day with them while we were at the park. We stayed and visited with everyone for a while and then we left to have a quick lunch and head to the park. Joshua was excited but a little nervous. He kept saying his stomach hurt. He just didn't know what to expect. Our first stop at the park was the kiddie pool. It had several things for everyone to play on. It was in the middle of a big pool with plenty of room for everyone to swim or float around. Joshua loved climbing on everything and spraying us with water. We then went over to the medium size slides. We had fun going down those. It took Joshua a while to feel comfortable to do those on his own but he eventually worked up to doing them by himself. (after a small push from me and some teasing from Blake!) We played on the slides and in the pool for awhile and then decided to take a break and get some snow cones. After our break we went over to the bigger slides. We had been over there once before but after waiting a long time for a float and then climbing a big hill to the top, Joshua decided those slides were not for him so Tim walked Joshua back down (Blake and I rode) and we decided to stick with the smaller ones. There was one really fast one that Joshua liked as long as he could go down with one of us. Blake and I rode a few more of the big ones and then we went back to the pool and stayed at the other ones the rest of the time. Around 4:00 we decided we better get back and rescue the grandparents from Dylan! We picked up some pizza on the way home and had dinner with Maw Maw and Paw Paw at their house. They said Dylan had a great day! He was so good for them. He didn't even get upset when we left. He waved bye to us as Paw Paw was playing with him on the swing. He played and had lunch. He even took a nap with Maw Maw and Paw Paw. I was impressed. He also used the big boy potty a few times for them. Paw Paw has a recliner that he always sits in and everytime he would get up Dylan would run and climb in his chair and laugh. Move your feet lose your seat! We were glad we had such a great day with the kids! Hopefully we can do it again some time!

Busy Weekend!

We had an event filled weekend! The fun started for the kids on Friday with a visit to Gram's first thing. Grampie was out of town so Gram invited Joshua to spend the night with her so they could have some time just the two of them. I had to run some errands in the morning so Gram offered to also watch Dylan for a few hours so I could get a few things done and have lunch with a friend. Gram and "Uncle" Bethany took the kids to McDonalds for lunch and they got to play on the playground for a while. After lunch they went to Books a million where they both got a sticker book. Joshua got Star Wars and Dylan got Bambi. I picked up Dylan shortly after that and took him home for a nap. Joshua and Gram went to play mini golf later that day and had dinner at Denny's.( I think Red Robin was busy. ) I called to check on Joshua around 8:30pm and he was getting his swim suit on to hit the hot tub and pool with Gram. It made me laugh that he was about to go swimming since I was already in my pajamas. On Saturday morning I went to work ( yes, work! As of yesterday I am working at the baby store again 2 Saturdays a month. I am very excited about this as I missed having a job!) Daddy stayed home with Dylan and Joshua stayed at Gram's so he could go with her to pick Grampie up from the airport. When I got home from work and Joshua got home from Gram's we ate a quick supper and then went to The Ellenburg's house for an ice cream social with our Sunday School class. We had a great time sitting around talking and eating lots of homemade ice cream. The kids had fun running around with each other. There were no problems getting the kids into bed that night! We went to church this morning and then came home and went swimming after lunch. We are just taking it easy the rest of the day today! We had a great weekend. As always it goes by way too fast!

A night at the movies

Tim was out of town for the night, so the kids and I went with our neighbors to our community pool for a movie night. The kids had a great time. We got there before it got dark so the kids had a chance to swim for a while. As it started getting dark they had everyone get out of the pool. We assumed the pool was closed for the night so we found a cozy spot to watch the movie as the workers set up the screen. They were showing Horton Hears a Who. We had not watched that movie yet so I was excited for the kids to see it. As soon as they got everything set up they blew a whistle and all of the kids jumped back into the pool. We had heard no swimming during the movie so we were surprised when everyone got back in. Of course we had already dried off 4 kids and got them comfortable so we were hoping they didn't want to swim again....of course they did! So back in the pool they went. Dylan didn't go back in so that helped. The kids were excited they got to swim and watch a movie at the same time. It was hard keeping up with them since it was dark and there were a lot of people, but overall the kids did great. Needless to say we will have to rent Horton Hears a Who so we can actually watch it!

Here goes nothing!

I have been thinking about start a family blog for a while now. I always enjoy sending out pictures of the boys to everyone who doesn't get to see them that often ( and to those who do!) After a little push from a friend (thanks Heather) I thought I would give it a go! I am not sure how often I will add stuff. I may really love it and do it everyday or I might only add posts when we have something really exciting to share. We will see how it goes! Let me know your thoughts!
Love you all so much!
