No time for blogging

I am getting so far behind on blogging! We have has SO much going in the past week, I could not even begin to write about all of it. We have started packing up the house for our closing on Tuesday. ( I hope everything is good for Tuesday as it has already been bumped a day!) We have made a lot of progress but still have lots of work to do. Our new house is almost ready! We are getting so excited about it. We drive by it all the time.
My Grandmother is here from Virginia so we have been spending a lot of time at my parents house as well. My brother from Miami gets here Monday. Lucky for us we will have help with our big move this week. We have already enjoyed several big meals courtesy of my mom! Glad she is cooking because our kitchen at home is closed!
Here are a few pictures of the new house.

So funny!!!

Joshua says the funniest things these days. We laugh because most of what he says you would not expect from a 5 year old.
Last night Tim had finally just gotten Joshua settled down in bed and was laying with him. They were face to face and in the silence Joshua says to Tim, "Wanna make out?!" Of course they both burst into laughter! It took another 10 minutes to get him settled down.
Tonight the boys were taking a shower and Tim went in to help wash them up. When he pulled back the shower curtain Joshua told Tim, "This isn't a gift shop. Close the curtain people are trying to take a shower here!"
Where do they pick this stuff up?!

Christmas Lunch

It is no wonder why everyone packs on the pounds during the holidays. We eat like food is going to expire after December 31st! We had a Christmas lunch today with some friends. We have done this the past few years. The Serranos invited us, the Gjesvolds and the Smiths over to their house today to eat some good food and let the kids play. We all don't get much time to be together anymore so it was nice having this day set aside a while ago to do this. We all brought sides to go with turkey. We had enough food to feed a small army. The kids all played together while the adults caught up and got lunch ready. After lunch the kids did a craft that Mrs. Christie got for them. The kids loved making their gingerbread man! Good idea! We stayed as long as we could but it was getting way past nap time and the kids were getting restless. We left very full! Thanks for having us over John, Christie, and Megan!

Deck the Halls

We have had the Christmas tree up for a while and I realized today that I have not taken any pictures of the family by the tree. So here you go......

Party Time!!!

Last night Tim and I went to his company Christmas party. We look forward to this every year as it is a night out and we get to dress up. (okay, I actually don't like that part but it is not that bad!) Maw Maw and Paw Paw came up to visit with us for the day and stayed the night to watch the kids. We had a great time at the party. Our nights out always seem to go by so quickly. We enjoyed having dinner with friends and hanging out and talking. They always give out a ton of door prizes each year. Of course we hardly ever win any. We did win a stuffed Christmas dog in the toy toss. I guess it is better than nothing!

We are Moving?!?!

Yup, it is true! As everyone knows we have been trying to get into a new house for a while now. We tried to sell our house last year and pulled it off of the market after a few months. We just felt that the time was not right and we could not find a house we were 100% happy with. Well, last week we were offered a great deal on a new house in a new subdivision and we took it! We got the official word yesterday and we close on the house in a little over a week! This came up out of know where but have prayed about it and feel it is defiantly the right thing for us to do. We are so excited about the new neighborhood! We know several people that live in that area already and our friends Heather and Jason are building a new house right across the street from where our new house will be. The house is brand new and was a model home for the builder. We are lucky that we don't have to go through the building process (although that is fun too) and we get to move in so quickly! Stayed tuned for pictures of the new house!

Christmas Party for the kids!!

Our neighbor Mona decided to treat her children's friends to a traditional Christmas party instead of exchanging gifts with each other this year. She had several kids over to their house Saturday night and had lots of fun with the kids (well, I know the kids had fun!) She had 9 children come over and she entertained them for a few hours. She would not let any of the parents stay to help. She wanted everyone to go get some Christmas shopping done. While she had the kids over they decorated cookies, read the Christmas story, made ornaments, watched a movie and played. Tim and I went out to dinner and went Christmas shopping while the kids were at the party. We got so much done without having little ones to get in and out of the car! I am not sure what kind of favor we owe Mona in return for this, but it was well worth it! Thanks Mona! The kids had a ball! (I will post pictures when she sends them, she took some great ones!)

Happy Birthday Jesus Party

Friday night the kids went to a birthday party for Jesus! Our church puts this event on every year in celebration of Christmas. It is a pajama party and they have dinner, do crafts, hear stories, and of course eat birthday cake. Our 4th grade puppet team (mine and my mom's) performed 3 songs. They did a great job entertaining the crowd and sharing the story of Jesus's birth. We were so proud of them. Tim helped with our kids since I was helping with the puppet team. It was a really fun event for the kids to participate in!

Slacker

I have been such a slacker with blogging. The holiday rush has started this past week and I feel like I have so much to do. Honestly, I like it that way. I don't like to be bored, but I will be happy when I can get my "to do" list done. It keeps growing everyday. I have had so much to blog about as we always have good times, funny stories, and blessings to share. I have it all in my head, just haven't put it on the blog. My friend Beth and I were talking about our blogs the other day when she stopped by for a minute and I told her I was going to blog about Thanksgiving but I figured most people probably know we ate dinner. I was going to blog about getting up at 4am to shop with my sister in law, but there wasn't much of a story there except we are out of our minds! I was going to blog about Christmas decorating but figured, everyone else decorated too, plus my pictures didn't look as nice as it looks in person. So we have been busy, just haven't bored you with every last detail! Hopefully I will get back on the ball soon! I know you can't wait! He he!

"I turned Christmas on!"

We have spent all weekend getting our house ready for Christmas. Now that it is all done I love to have all of the lights on, especially on days like today when it is gloomy outside. Dylan and I got home from running errands and he informed me he turned Christmas on for me. I had to think about it for a minute and then I realized he had plugged the tree in! It was so cute! We have 5 trees in the house this year (not all big) and it has been a chore to get Dylan to understand why he doesn't plug the trees in by himself! Oh well! It made for a cute memory!
