Dinner Guests

We had special dinner guests over tonight! My younger brother Christopher and his girlfriend Savannah came over for dinner. My parents are still in Miami visiting my older brother, and we will be going to Tim's parents tomorrow for Thanksgiving, so we wanted to have some family over since we would not all be together during the holiday. I cooked, (I hear you laughing!) everyone ate! We had a good time talking and watching the boys as they entertained us. Christopher and Savannah even got a lesson on The Wonder Pets! Very funny conversation! It was nice to see them as everyone is so busy and we don't get together that often.

The above picture was a result of Uncle Chris finding out what "surprise" Dylan had for him in his diaper!

Little Gym

Monday night Joshua was invited to go to the Little Gym. It is a new kids gym that opened up not to far from the house. His friend Audrey takes a weekly class and this past week was allowed to invite one friend to go with her. She obviously invited Joshua! It was Superhero night and the kids were supposed to dress up like superheros. If you didn't have a super hero costume you could just wear a Halloween costume. Joshua wore his pirate costume from a year ago and Audrey wore a bunch of different stuff. She looked so cute! For an hour the kids played, climbed, and tumbled on the gym equipment. Joshua loved it! He wants to go back! Tim is not so excited about letting him participate in a gymnastics class but they offer Karate so we might think about letting Joshua do that. The class would be on Tuesday nights which would interfere with t ball season. We will have to see. Anyway, he had a lot of fun! Thanks for inviting us Audrey!

Advent Workshop

We took the kids to the Advent Workshop at out church tonight. Our church does this event every year and it is always a lot of fun. We had a dinner catered by Lawler's BBQ and watched a puppet show while we ate. The kids ate well and enjoyed the show. The next part was their favorite. We made candy houses! They were busy deciding what should go where and how to do it. That kept them busy for about 15 minutes until they realized they were allowed to eat the candy while they made the house. Tim ended up finishing the rest of the house by himself. I watched as I made an advent wreath. We had a good time talking with friends from our Sunday school class and laughing at how creative some of the houses were.

This time last year......

We were heading to Disney World! Oh how I wish we were there! We went twice last year so we had to skip out this year. My parents went down to Miami yesterday to visit my older brother and had planned on stopping at Disney for 2 days. Schedules just didn't work out so they had to skip it! Maybe next year! (I have already dropped several hints to Tim about the spring!)

Road Trip

Today we went on a road trip with the kids. We went to Chattanooga to visit the Creative Discovery Museum. We had never been there before. We usually go to the aquarium across the street and that is about all we can handle in one day. Tim and I were really excited to take the kids there as we have not had a day with just them in a long time. We wanted them to have a fun day without having to run all over the place. We got there around lunch time so we went to the Mellow Mushroom for pizza. It was really good! Once we had full bellies we headed over to the museum. It was so much fun! There was so much to do. We went non stop for about 2 1/2 hours. We didn't even do everything that was available. I think the best part was the playground right when we walked in. We got to climb and play right along with the kids. The kids got to do so much. They had a ball. I think Dylan was sleep walking by the time we left. We took a quick walk around downtown and then got in the car to head home. We went through McDonald's on the way home and got ice cream to eat for the ride home. What is a road trip without food?! I was so glad we had a perfect day!

Just having a snack

The neighbors came over to play right away today as the kids got off of the school bus. This usually happens a few times a week. Sometimes the kids go to the neighbors house or sometimes the kids come over to ours. Anyway, today they came to ours. As always first things first....Snack Time!

Where did the weekend go?

I find myself asking that question almost every Sunday night. We had another crazy few days. Tim was off Friday which couldn't have worked out better this week. We had some hardwood floors put in the house Friday so I had planned on staying home that day so they could hopefully get our floors done in one day. I was actually never home Friday for more than 30 minutes at a time. I ended up taking Dylan to the doctor that morning. He had an ear infection last week and really never seemed to get better. They found a really bad infection in the other ear when I took him in again. Poor guy. He still doesn't seem to be better so I am probably taking him in tomorrow morning again. I brought Dylan home so he could rest and then went and ran a million other errands. Tim stayed at home while the floors were being installed. Dylan's ears were really sensitive to loud sounds and he kept yelling at the workers to stop making so much noise. He even called me into his room while he was trying to go to sleep to ask me to tell the guys to be quite! The guys working on the floors got a good laugh out of him! I worked all day Saturday and Tim played Mr.Mom and stayed home with the kids. Saturday night was pretty rough as Dylan was feeling awful and Joshua was starting to get sick. It was not a restful night at all! We skipped church due to the boys. (Joshua did feel better in the morning) I spent 3 hours cleaning the house this morning and getting caught up on things. After lunch I had to head to a baby shower for a girl in our Sunday School class. I left from the shower and went to church for puppet practice with the 4th graders. I got home at 6pm to a nice home cooked meal. No, Tim did not cook! I had put a roast in the crock pot when I got up this morning. After dinner we went into our usual routine of making lunches, giving baths, and getting everything ready for the week. Again I ask, Where did the weekend go?!

A little early.....

Okay, so I know it is a little early for the Christmas layout but I thought I would go ahead and change it while I working on my blog today. Thanks Jenn for the site for cute layouts! In about 2 weeks this won't seem so weird! It's not like I have lights on my house yet or anything!

A visit from Katie

We have had a very busy few days. My best friend Katie came for a visit! We are always sooo excited when she comes to visit. Katie and I met before the 6th grade. We lived in the same neighborhood and went to the same school. We were best friends pretty much from the day we met. She moved back to Kansas (where her family is originally from) at the end of 9th grade. We have been friends apart longer than we have been together. I just love her. She is my Phoebe. (from the show "Friends") There has not been a year since she moved that I have not gone to see her or she has come to see me. We actually saw each other twice this year as I went to Kansas for a girl's weekend in February. While she was here we did lots of shopping and eating out as usual. Friday Katie, my mom and I went to Under the Christmas Tree and to lunch. We had a fun girls day. We hung out with the kids most of the day Saturday and then Gram and Grampie watched the boys Saturday night so Tim ,Katie and I could go out for a while. We went to Bridgesteet and had dinner at PF Chang's. Sunday we went to church and did some more running around in the afternoon. Monday was her last day and we went shopping at some speciality shops and went to the mall. We came home and had a lazy afternoon before going to dinner with my parents. Tuesday came way too fast as that was the day she had to go home. She left at 5am to head to the airport. My house always seems so quiet the day after she leaves. The boys just love her as she loves them just as much! We are already planning our next trip! It's my turn so hopefully I can make it back to Kansas soon! We had a blast Aunt Katie!

Happy Birthday Aunt Bethany

Aunt Bethany's birthday was November 1st. She was in Tuscaloosa over the weekend so we celebrated last Wednesday night. We went to Gram's for dinner and had birthday cake and ice cream. It is hard to believe she is 19 years old already! It is her last year as a "teenager!" Enjoy it for what it is worth Bethany! We love you!

I have been tagged!

I was tagged by my friends Heather and Becky so I now have to share 7 weird or strange facts about me that you didn't know. If you have a blog considered yourself tagged and do the same! I actually did this on my My space not too long ago so I took some of my facts from there.

1. I still love watching Saved by the Bell

2. I am missing eyelashes due to the chicken pox.

3. I love to smell new books. My husband thinks this is strange!

4. Even though I love to shop, I am very thrifty with what I buy.

5. I used to stalk local tv news personalities when I would see them in public. I actually asked several of them if I could be on the news. It worked once. Remember that Christmas eve Stacy?!

6. I start a new diet everyday.

7. Sometimes when I sing out loud, I pretend that I am good at it. And I still dance like I am too!

And yes Heather, our #1 was the same but I left it off since not many people would not be surprised by that anymore. I also brush my teeth after I eat anything.

Happy Halloween

The kids had a very fun filled night of trick or treating last night. Our neighborhood was having their annual hot dog dinner before the kids went trick or treating. All of the kids in the neighborhood get together at one house and eat dinner before heading out for candy. We went with our neighbors the Candia's. After the party we went trick or treating. The kids buckets were already full after just 2 streets. We all went home to warm up and take potty breaks. Our friends the Solley's came over and joined us for round 2 of trick treating. Again our buckets were full after just 2 streets. Dylan was the cutest trick or treater ever! He totally got into it and was so excited at every house. He would come running up to us every time and say " They gave me candy!" He thought is was the best day ever. He had fun trying to keep up with the big kids. Dylan ended up having last minute costume change and was Bob the Builder. I told you he was offended last week for the Lockheed party that he had to be Elmo. Well, when it came time for costumes last night he refused to wear it! Luckily our neighbors had a Bob the Builder costume that fit him and he was much happier being a "big boy." I guess that is what happens when you have an older sibling! We stayed out until about 7:30pm and the kids were tired but had a ball. We came back to our house and had pizza and the kids looked through their candy. After we ate, the kids crashed watching tv and the adults sat in the kitchen and talked for a while. Our friends left around 12:00am and we were all beat. It was a fun night! We have SO much candy it is ridiculous! I am going to throw half of it away so I don't eat it all!
