Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at Tim's parent's house as we usually do. There is normally a house full at Maw Maw's house as our family and Tim's sisters' family all get together and have lunch and open presents. We had finger foods for lunch (always good!) and sat around and talked and watched the kids play. Maw Maw and Paw Paw have 10 grandchildren so there was a lot going on! We exchange names on that side of the family since there are so many of us. Tim got a sweater from his sister, I got a shirt and necklace from our nephew Brandon (of course I might have had something to do with the selection!) Joshua got transformers from our nephew Drew and Dylan got a new Diego toy from our nephew Brian. Maw Maw and Paw Paw gave the boys Incredible Hulk boxing gloves. I did give the okay on them, however I have been beat up more than I cared to. :)

Christmas Time = lots of company

I love when Christmas time rolls around! It means 2 weeks of company and good food! My Grandmother usually makes her trip form Virginia a week before Christmas. We usually spend that time finishing up shopping and eating lots of good food prepared by my mom. This year was no exception even with the craziness of packing up our house and getting ready to move. My older brother was able to make it this year as well so my mom had a house full! For almost 2 weeks we had 11-15 people at my parent's house. It was someone new everyday! My Uncle came down from Nashville and my dad even had a friend from work stop in for dinner one night on his way to Florida with his son. Joshua and Dylan just love all the company since that is just more people to give them attention.

WHOA....

What a crazy 2 weeks it has been! We have been so busy with the holidays and the big move! Things are finally starting to get back to normal and I am glad for that. God has blessed us so much with an awesome family that has been at our side for 2 weeks helping us get everything in order. THANK YOU! I have lots of stuff to post so hopefully I will get to it in the next few days! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

No time for blogging

I am getting so far behind on blogging! We have has SO much going in the past week, I could not even begin to write about all of it. We have started packing up the house for our closing on Tuesday. ( I hope everything is good for Tuesday as it has already been bumped a day!) We have made a lot of progress but still have lots of work to do. Our new house is almost ready! We are getting so excited about it. We drive by it all the time.
My Grandmother is here from Virginia so we have been spending a lot of time at my parents house as well. My brother from Miami gets here Monday. Lucky for us we will have help with our big move this week. We have already enjoyed several big meals courtesy of my mom! Glad she is cooking because our kitchen at home is closed!
Here are a few pictures of the new house.

So funny!!!

Joshua says the funniest things these days. We laugh because most of what he says you would not expect from a 5 year old.
Last night Tim had finally just gotten Joshua settled down in bed and was laying with him. They were face to face and in the silence Joshua says to Tim, "Wanna make out?!" Of course they both burst into laughter! It took another 10 minutes to get him settled down.
Tonight the boys were taking a shower and Tim went in to help wash them up. When he pulled back the shower curtain Joshua told Tim, "This isn't a gift shop. Close the curtain people are trying to take a shower here!"
Where do they pick this stuff up?!

Christmas Lunch

It is no wonder why everyone packs on the pounds during the holidays. We eat like food is going to expire after December 31st! We had a Christmas lunch today with some friends. We have done this the past few years. The Serranos invited us, the Gjesvolds and the Smiths over to their house today to eat some good food and let the kids play. We all don't get much time to be together anymore so it was nice having this day set aside a while ago to do this. We all brought sides to go with turkey. We had enough food to feed a small army. The kids all played together while the adults caught up and got lunch ready. After lunch the kids did a craft that Mrs. Christie got for them. The kids loved making their gingerbread man! Good idea! We stayed as long as we could but it was getting way past nap time and the kids were getting restless. We left very full! Thanks for having us over John, Christie, and Megan!

Deck the Halls

We have had the Christmas tree up for a while and I realized today that I have not taken any pictures of the family by the tree. So here you go......
